Plymouth’s Caring for Creation group is throwing a party on Sunday, May 7, and everyone is invited. We are honoring Mother Earth, celebrating our new solar panels and shining the light on Plymouth’s commitment to sustainability. Did you know that this year 65 percent of Plymouth’s electricity will come from renewable energy? All thanks to a Community Solar Garden and Windsource subscriptions and to our new solar panels.
The celebration starts after church in Jones Commons with a free picnic-style lunch. The program will include a sunshine sing-along led by the children’s choirs and a symbolic “plugging-in” of the solar panels (there will be a sample solar panel so you can see what ours looks like). Also included will be a short talk about Plymouth’s progress in reducing our carbon footprint and our commitment to caring for the Earth.
